Week 5
(Week 5) Learning Log: On July
1, 2013
Learning
both inside and outside the classroom is important for learners. What learners
have learned all the class can guide them in development their background
knowledge as this equation (i+1=comprehensive input). “i” equals to “input” or
background knowledge of learners. “1” is new experience that a teacher adds or
teaches as more difficult level than their background knowledge. In this
section, I would like to tell what reflection knowledge I have learned in this
class.
Today,
learning is not related to presentation. The teacher tells me more about how to
write syllabus, unit and lesson plan. He says that chart of making syllabus
included four units. Each unit included four topics (lesson plans), what
vocabularies you teach, what grammar you teach, what skills or function
(tasks), 3A5S changed to be standard-based learning and indicators that you use
to write lesson plan. There are four strands including 1. English for Education
2. English for culture 3. English for connection 4. English for Community. In
addition, the teacher adds that future teachers should have knowledge of the
world, grammar, four skills in English and teaching strategies. He also
announces about learning process as the following: 1) Input-2) process-3) 4)
output-outcome.
Conclusion, future teachers can write lesson plan
for teaching. They should teach contents that are more difficult than students’
knowledge like equation as above. Before planning to teach students, the
teachers should test students’ ability by using pre-test. After the teachers
know students’ background knowledge, they can plan what they teach and how to
teach by using standard-based learning and indicators of English curriculum.
