Three Festivals in Ang-Thong
In Thailand, there are a
lot of festivals that are different in each region. Festivals are original event staged by
local communities or places. Some festivals are inherited for a long time. By
the way, Ang-Thong is one province of Thailand where is interesting place. In
this section, there also are interesting festivals in Ang-Thong. Three
festivals in Ang-Thong are published on July 4, 2013 in this topic “Life From
July 12-21, the Farming on the Chao Phraya River Basin Towards Asean Fair will
take place at the Ang Thong Provincial.” Eating Phad Thai is arranged on July
13, 2013 for worshipping Phra Somdej Keschaiyo, held at Chaiyo Worawihan
temple. From July 19-21, light and sound performances, The Miracles and Legends
Of Ang-Thong, held in front of the big Buddha statue, Muang temple.
The first festival published in Ang-Thong
is Eating Phad Thai Festival. Visitors
will taste the best tasty of Phad Thai (Thai noodles) at Ang-Thong and watch
Thai noodles cooking test. During July 19-21, light and sound performances, it
will be held in front of the big Buddha statue, Muang temple, in Wiset Chaichan
district with modern technology such as digital water curtains and pyro laser
lights. It shows the history of, culture and way of life of people at Ang-Thong.
There are other activities including cultural performances, a retro-style market and
the sale of OTOP products. Candle alms giving ceremony in Nan arranged
on July 24, it will be performed at Boon Yuen temple in Wieng-Sa district of
Nan. It starts at 1pm for merit-making in the morning. All festivals that I say
in this essay are interesting for visitors who are local people, the others
places and foreigners.
Festivals in Ang-Thong should be
inherited forever to new generations. In
this essay, there are three festivals arranged in Ang-Thong. Each festival
arranged for giving knowledge about the history, culture and way of life of
local people in Ang-Thong. In addition, visitors will get new experiences from them.
By the way, an English teacher can apply contents about festivals into English
lesson coupled with teaching other content such as history, local, global, etc.
In my opinion, I think new generation should inherit their own festivals in
their local birthplace and maintain them forever. In school, we can link
knowledge about our festivals into classroom. We can teach students English
grammar and vocabularies in local festivals. Now, every schools plan to connect
knowledge inside the classroom with their locality. Do you agree or disagree
