People who have low immunity usually
easier get virus or diseases than who are strong body. Every year, there are
new diseases happened that researchers don’t know what causes and effects for
everybody until they are spread widely. From these reason, there is
discussion about a new study of injuries in physical education classes in
American schools. From 1997-2007, there is the number of students taken to
hospitals increased. This problem is so serious for school because students who
get injure taken them to treat at emergency room. According to this health
problem, one possible reason is a shortage of school nurses. Let’s know about
how to protect or solve these health problems in second paragraph.
The government must help school nurses
for solving health problem together. Amy Garcia, the executive director of the
National Association of School Nurses, says guidelines of federal calls a nurse
for 750 healthy students. In fact, the number is changed to be a nurse for
every 1,100 students. She says again that Vermont has a nurse for every 275
students. In Utah, a bigger population has a nurse for almost 5,000 students. One
of reason why a nurse is not enough for students is the regression of economy leads
to the shortage of a national nursing.
In
addition, nursing is the industry that kept hiring. Another reason for schools is limited budgets. A registered nurse (R.N.) must have at least a two-year
nursing degree. The Labor Department says registered nurses earned an average
of sixty-five thousand dollars last year. Pat Lewis is a school nurse in
Beaumont, Texas. She and one assistant care for about 900 children (4-11 years
old). She says many times the school nurse is the first one to bring health
problems to parents.
Finally, school nurse is the first one to
pass health problem to parents. The government should promote and earn each registered nurse who has at
least two years nursing degree with suitable hiring. All school should have discussion
about a nurse for the suitable children. A school still is a place for taking
care of children coupled with nursing. For example, school prepare to concern
with H1N1 virus (Swine flu). There are announcing the risk of flu in
communities with problems that school dismissals can be a cause. In my opinion,
school can also be used as places to give various vaccines to children. It is
way to protect your children far from each disease. Do you agree or disagree on
